Well, its my aunts birthday today.
And my mum suggested I make a cake a few days ago.
I guess its pretty much worthless in that manner now, since my aunt didn't come over today.
haha

Anyway, my mum wanted me to use up the oranges. Yep, the same Navel oranges I used in the cupcakes before.
haha.
So I came up with this idea.
Also cos I was lazy and didn't want to ice the cake.
Hey, after I reached home it was already 4pm. If they were coming over, they'd be here by 7.45pm.
I didn't have much time to mix the batter (at least 2 hours, since I do everything by hand), bake the cake (~40min), wait for it to cool (at least 1 hr) and then prepare frosting and ice the cake (at least 2 hrs)
So I thought hard in school and came up with it.
Hey, if it works for pineapple, it should work for oranges right?

Thing is. I've NEVER made a pineapple upside down cake.
Hell, I haven't even looked at a recipe for that before.
haha, I decided to wing it and look at the outcome:

Actually, I intended to COMPLETELY fill the bottom (yea, its upside down no?) with peeled segmented oranges.
But hell... It's hard to peel the skin off the segments!!!
So when Mari and I finished peeling 2 of the 3 oranges left, I said, you know what? I'm just gonna arrange it so it looks intentional. :P
I modified a Japanese sponge cake recipe for the cake. It's sweeter than normal but I figure the oranges aren't v sweet and wont give a lot of taste.

Overall, it took a long time to make this. Primarily cos I was peeling the oranges for over an hour and cos I was beating 7 eggs and sugar with a normal hand whisk which took close to 90minutes until I realised it was going to overflow and had to separate it into 2 bowls and make 2 diff batches. 1 for the cake and the excess for another. ( it ended up becoming sponge-cupcakes, not enough to fill the smallest cake tin I own.)
I'm an idiot and prefer to hand whisk, instead of using the beater. My sis once commented, "why am I doing this if we have a mixer?"
That was when I was assisting her in making cupcakes.
Well, IF you insist on logic.

Eggs and sugar can double, no sorry, triple in volume. My bowl isn't very big.
Well, for the initial stages, it would be fine to use the beater.
But after it increases volume, it would most DEFINITELY splash out of the bowl.
It happened the 1st time I used it ages ago.
so yea!

Well, it looks nice.
Prob is I doubt my aunt is coming over anytime soon.. haha my mum and maid are flying off tmr and I'm screwed for tests...
I hope people pull their weight in house keeping and cleaning... T.T

Well, nothing much to update about.
I mean, I did bake stuff since the last post, but mostly, didn't take pics.
I experimented, tested, invented recipes.

Mostly I find one that seems to be going the right direction and then, wham, I hit it with my best shot of 'replacement' therapy.
lol.
What? No orange essence? hell, just stick with the zest and juice a whole orange!!! Hmm... the juice is too much liquid? cut down on the milk!!! Wait?! the milk has gone bad?! ^$*!@ Just use yogurt!

haha, so you see? everytime I make something, its gonna be different.
Basically I call it, btw my secondary school chem teacher coined this term, "Agaration"

Okok, so a small run through of what I've made since then: (those that I can rmb... hehe)

1) Okonomiyaki! 
Haha, a fake one of course!!
I've been DYING to eat this! Seriously someone go with me to eat it PLEASE!
I happened to find a packet of okonomiyaki mix at Daiso.
So... I had to try it.
haha, I winged it as usual, cabbage, umm... what else other than cabbage?! I had Mari dig out whatever she could find.
And, well. plain, it tasted ok.
Then, I remembered about the MAYONNAISE. And wham!! shit, I love this stuff.
It probably tastes even better with whorchester sauce. That was in the lil translated recipe on the baggy.
But, we didn't have any sooo...
hehe

2) Milo Cupcakes.
Shit, you have no idea how much Milo I put into those babies.
It all started with my sis' craving for Milo cupcakes. The only problem was she wanted it PACKED with Milo flavor.
So I decided to experiment.
Man, they smelt soooooo good.
But the Milo taste wasn't very strong.
T.T
I brought one to school to eat during class. Yea, I ate it right b4 the teacher came in. :P
And my friend said it smelt v v nice.
I had a stuffed nose... so...
I ended up asking if she was sure it wasn't the person who was eating a choc doughnut in front of me.
haha

3) Orange and Pineapple Muffins.
These were products of the need to use the pineapple chunks, no sorry, the chewy-candy flavored like pineapple, that my mum bought.
She found them too sweet to eat, and wanted me to dispose of them.
Yea, she actually said to use them as ingredients.
I taste tested one and almost died...
It's freaking sugar!! A bare hint of pineapple.
I had to chop it into smaller pieces and steep them in tap water. The water actually clouded. It was THAT sugary.
I thought it would be weird if it was a vanilla cupcake with pineapple so I did a lil research and found that people think orange and pineapple go together.
So I proceeded to zest an orange and juice it.
Yea, I winged this one completely. Just grabbed the rough amounts of basic ingredients off the closest recipe and changed about 50% of it to suit my needs.
They turned out pretty fine.
Tasted alright, tho my sibs weren't v supportive once they heard it had pineapple in it.

Ok, ok, I confess. this was when I went clickie-happy over a month and a half ago.
I was bored, it was the hols, and SOMEONE *cough cough* had to introduce me to this really extravagant spree page.
Clickie happy, I was, I was.

So, how was the service like for smoochiezz?
I will refer to it as smoochiezz as there's a spree page (smoochiezz.livejournal.com) and the instock page (www.smoochiezz.com)

Hmm, the spree was slow to close.
I waited 3 weeks till after I ordered (which was a week after I saw the page) to receive an email saying that the spree has closed and the orders are being processed.
It can't really be helped.
Her cap for the e.l.f. spree was USD100 and for cherry culture USD300.
And yea, most of the items are only a few USD on the page.

It took real long for the e.l.f. spree to close and even longer for the cherry culture spree.
haha.

Service wise, they are very nice people. Well, I did go to their flea before and they do have a wide range of items brought in for the purpose of flea-ing.
I asked for the items to be sent in a single package and they were very willing to hold them for me until the cherry culture items arrived 2 weeks after the e.l.f items arrived.
Then I asked to add an eyeshadow and lippie from their instocks page to the package.
And... the response?! 

Of course, it was yes. Although they OOS on the eyeshadow...
So, all in all, I was a extremely disorganized client but they took it in their stride.
Thumbs up for the service!

However, yea, there's always a however right?
They ignored some of my questions, pertaining to when do they expect a restock of black eyeshadow.
Oh well...

I got 2 items.
After scouring the net for data, I considered these items very carefully.
Why? Well, of course due to the poor experiences with e.l.f. products.

I was interested in the liner sealer, more than the primer. I have quite a stash of primers! lol, just joking.
nah, the sealer would enable me to use MORE funky colours as liners, sooo :P

I got the HD powder because my fav guru, Klaire was saying how good it is for setting makeup.
And Kore was also saying for photos, its best not to use sparkly setting powders.
The loose powder I'm using right now, is shimmery.
:P

Cherry Culture:
I got 5 items.
4 Ultra Pearl Mania loose eyeshadows and the LA colours Lipstick.

The bottles for the eyeshadows are A LOT , I mean A LOT, smaller than the Dramatic Chromatic counterparts.
Oh well, I finally got my hands on some to try.
I chose to stick away from blues and pinks when choosing the colours.
Why? I have no clue... Maybe cos I was thinking how blue looks ashy on me and fades faster.
But I really wanted the bright jade and yellow colours.
The oro was a pretty bronze and the penny, I got on a whim.
haha.

Sadly, one of the bottles, the Oro, was dented,
The bottles are soft plastic, unlike the Dramatic Chromatic Eyeshadows which come with hard plastic cases.
But that doesn't prevent the eyeshadow from being useable. Just a tiny bit harder to stand up and a tad uglier.

I'm most disappointed in the LA lipstick.
I never really noticed much discrepancies in colour charts and swatches provided as I have here.
On the swatch it was a BLACK.
Really. a BLACK.
But it arrived as a warm brown.
Chocolate brown.
Crap. I never worn brown lipstick, I hope it looks good... T.T
Very disappointed. After I opened the pack, I went straight on the net to try to find swatches to tell me it was wrong. But I only got the original swatch.
I read online that swatches are deceiving, and saw some which are a couple shades lighter or darker but at least they were the same colour...
This wasn't even a dark colour...

Smoochiezz:
Well, as mentioned, I wanted black eyeshadow but it was OOS.
Instead I contemplated getting the purple lippie (was being adventurous) and enquired as to whether the NYX Black Label Lipstick in black was a pure black.
I was convinced I had ordered a black lipstick from Cherry Culture so I decided NOT to get the black lipstick.
T.T I should have been kiasu.
Damn. I should have been. Then I wouldn't have such a problem on my hands.
Argghhh.

T.T anyway, seductive (the purple lippie) came as it was ordered.
Prettyyy...
Let's hope it goes on pretty too.
I really like the Lipstick packaging.
Its classy and the lace printing makes it a bit special too, tho the print is fine and it looks like it would rub off after a while.

Soo, off to organise this into my Shit-ass-Big-Metal-Box, as I love to call it.

It'll be a good time to rest my skin.
I'm breaking out cos of hormones and it ain't healing cos of my itchy fingers.

Though I would need to bring my homework and study materials to KL.

Maybe I'll finally catch up on all the studying I've missed. I'll try my best to finish up all the japanese hw before I leave so I won't bring any over and can't get distracted by it from studying my core modules.

** I swear. I won't buy more makeup before the end of the month. (FEB OK? not end of Jan, it's already the end of Jan anyway)
Unless I really need the black lipstick and eyeshadow for cosplaying.

haha, not that I haven't done makeup in a while. I have. I swear.
I've done makeup every morning before I go to school.

Let me clarify this though.
I'm not a vain pot alright? Ok, honestly, every girl is a lil bit of a vain pot.
But I'm saying I'm not the kind of person who MUST dress nice nice, wear TONS of makeup just to go out.

I don't wear makeup everytime I go out.
Even if you exclude the times I just pop out to buy, errr I don't know... a pen?
I don't wear makeup all the time.
sure, maybe 70% of the time, but that's just cause I don't go out much except to go to school... haha

BUT in school I do wear makeup.
that is the ONLY exception I will make.
The day I don't wear makeup to school, is the day I woke up so bloody freaking late that I'm out of the house in 10 minutes and praying to the skies that by some stroke of luck I'd reach the bus stop and a magical bus will deliver me to school in 20 minutes.

No, there ain't any guys I wanna impress.
In fact, I kinda think my makeup scares the shit out of people! hehe

I just love doing makeup as a way to center myself, a sort of pick me up that gets my butt moving to 8 hours of lectures, tutorials and labs.
So yea. It's there for me and me only.
I love it and well, it makes me special.
I hate being normal and sorry, but I have to say, I am normal academically, so...
Guess what, I'm going to be abnormal and show everyone my good side and my bad side.
Somedays are good somedays are bad. So what, deal with it.

Anyway, even if I do not like my makeup, I'm not going to be staring in a mirror the whole day.
I don't particularly care about what people think, though, if they stare for real long, I'd get annoyed.
But yea, main point is, after its on, I kinda forget I have makeup on.
So I might be a little taken aback when someone brings up the makeup on my face.

haha, weird right? even though I do it every morning. You'd think I'd remember that I have makeup on, if not what colours I used.

Well, today we finally took up my challenge.
I used REDS!!!
Not just orange and little red tints, but full on reds.

I used 3 red colours from the 88 original palette. Not very happy with the shades, but that's all the reds I have.
And used the black to darken the corners and crease.
The overall result: Alright, I guess... Not too thrilled. The colours aren't exactly what I hoped for...

Strangely the black made the reds turn purple... T.T
I wanted BLACK I SAY!
I noticed this before when I tried to use the black in the palette.
It looks black, it packs black, it blends grey.

Ouch... never was able to do a black smokey eye look with it.
Not under 10 minutes at least. 10 minutes is pushing it by the way. I only allocate 35 mins MAX to makeup every morning.
Now, you see why its a way to wake me up?

I was sooo refreshed this morning.
Last night, I came back from my tutorial class past 9pm.
Plonked on the computer to send documents to my group mates, well, cos their lessons end at 4pm so they were probably expecting something around 7pm latest.

I was like HOLY S!$)* I got sooo spammed...
15 unread emails in my inbox.
2 from group mates, the rest? from school... Didn't read those. :P
1 more mail from group mates in my junk too.

After I had a shower, I did my usual wind down.
Manga updates!!! only 3 chapters. Was kinda disappointed.
Next thing I know, I felt sooo dopey.
I crashed on the couch and it was barely past 10.
YEAH, my hair was wet too.

I woke up at 2.45am, cos the light was glaringly bright.
I guess sleepiness has a limit.
Dragged myself to wash up, secretly happy that I have no lab session this morning.
crashed into bed and slept peacefully until 8.45am.

huh? I woke before my alarm rang? I set it for 9.15am b4 I crashed.
Oh well... So, I lazed and lazed and daydreamed till OMG?! its 11.30am?!?!
I was planning to read the email info!!
haha... screwed.

I had weird daydreams. in one, my teeth shifted overnight until it was IMPOSSIBLE to use my retainers.
In another, my gums loosened and 3 teeth came out while the rest were weak and wobbly. Funny thing was the root of the teeth were 5cm long.

Yea, strangely they were all about teeth.
I swear, I brushed my teeth!! no I didn't wear my retainers.
Those hurt alright? I wear them at least once every 2 nights. yea, I know could be better...

anyway, The 2 hour nap and a nice long sleep, which was considerably uninterrupted, made me feel great!!!
haha, its been so long since I slept that well.
Even in hols I sleep badly, I'm in bed for a long time, but sleep is sparse and intermittent.

I'm not sure why though, I didn't go to bed extremely late on mon morning, the usual time, so my body should cope.
But yea, I did feel kinda out of it on mon.
Must have really caught something from mum or ruirui.
But today felt refreshed, although a bit of a headache is coming on right now... T.T right when I started typing feeling refreshed... haha.

Tomorrow I have only 1 lesson. Japanese tut. So yea! I have to drop by a library though... Book due...
But hey, I prob will get back real early and can get a start on those rings and do some studying... been pushing that back a lot.

No surprise there though... I keep staying up later and later. Mostly because I pack up and think, "Oh, might as well do some Japanese homework. Don't wanna lag behind. Maybe once I cleared it all I can start studying my core modules..."

Honestly, I do have the intention to study, just lack the willpower...

But then I should get the research done for microbiology poster project... >< I feel bad, I'm given quite a limited section and people I don't know or barely recognize actually approached me to do work...

What really made me move my ass was that I wanted to use the Omurice Rice Molding thingy I bought from daiso.
It's super cute!!!
So, I cut onions, garlic, mangled a chinese cabbage trying to get 1 leaf off to cut T.T, raided the fridge in hopes of finding processed meat.
Nope, none there... Awww... I hate working with fresh meat. Only did it once, and I hate it... slimy...
Settled for the next best thing. Leftovers from dinner!!! Cooked duck. really oily...
Wow, ducks sure are bony... almost cut my fingers peeling off the meat... didn't know the bones had sharp edges...
Dug out the cooked rice from the fridge.

Then I proceeded to manifest my meal.
Yep, manifest. I had no clue what I was doing :P YAY!
haha, I watched a couple of youtube vids before (ages ago...), but nvr paid attention to the ingredients. I was just fascinated by how they wrapped the egg over the rice. :P

So it was pretty touch and go.
Disaster struck soon after. As some of you might know, I'm a REALLY BAD judge of volume.
I swear, there is about 3/4 the amount of diced onions as there was rice... Somehow I convinced myself that it didn't matter cos I LOVE ONIONS!
well, that wasn't the disaster... lol
The disaster was I ran out of tomato sauce!!! 
T.T Omurice is tomato flavoured fried rice... So while my rice is orange. the taste isn't very strong. Pretty mild.
Well, I comforted myself saying that, "Oh well, [younger bro] wouldn't know the diff"
yea, he was shocked that the inside was orange... in fact, I think he was shocked that it wasn't an omelette... haha.
For midnight snacks, I make omelette, but this was replacement dinner... soo...

As mentioned. Bad judge of volume.
What I hoped to be enough to fill the mold twice, probably could only fill 1 1/2 times.
I packed mine first. Almost full, not quite. Leaving enough rice left to make a suitable 'smaller' omurice.

Next making the egg.
Oh, shit...
No seriously, shit. the milk is 10 days expired.
Not 1 day, or 2 days. But well over a week.
T.T nothing to thin the egg down. Sooo, my omu looks really really yellow... Cos I had to use 1 1/2 egg for 1 omu.

1st try,
oops, forgot to turn the fire down... haha, even well coated with oil a small patch of egg got charred and stuck to the wok.
charred meaning brown, ok? not charcoal.
Egg cooked really fast and the edges were really thin.
oh well, I'll use the 1st hole-ly one for mine.

2nd try,
hmm, heat too low this time. egg not forming film on the side of wok.
managed to salvage it.
But bad judge of volume... used less than 1 1/2 egg on the 1st one. so this guy is thicker than planned...

assembly, ugg. let's just say, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but yea...

Of course, the rice was a tad too wet. What to do, I was working with fully cooked jasmine rice...
When making omurice, supp to work with 1/2 cooked/ dry rice so that it will absorb the sauce.
To make up for it, I cooked it for longer trying to evaporate the sauce... T.T didn't really work cos it started to stick to the frying pan...
I think you supp to use japanese rice too...

Faint tomato taste, appetizing but faint.... needs more tomato. maybe a bit more salt and meat yea, I only had a few chunks of duck in there.
Strangely, not full after eating this.
I thought the mold was calibrated for a meal.
Maybe not.
I don't think not filling it to the brim is responsible for that cos, that would just be one or two more mouthfuls.

WTH! as if I know. I know you don't eat fish and seafood.

1st of all, we don't even eat together.
Usually there's only me and mummy eating together. Only cos I'm absent minded and lose track of time and realise its already 8pm so I just wait for mum to come back before eating.

2ndly, when I eat, I eat.
I might ask my friends what is that orange thingy on the right side of the plates, does it taste good?
But then when I start eating, I stop looking at other people's food.
Really. I might jabber on about class and theories we learnt which didn't make sense (an attempt to draw out explanations:P) or talk about random things. (Like today, we were talking about how a lecturer must be above 60, but doesn't look older than 50)

I may notice what people like to eat, but that is only if its very very very obvious.
Everybody knows my sense of observation is seriously compromised.
People have to wave their hands in my face when they walk by.

Throwing a fit like that, I think it really shows how slack NS is now.
Time was that it taught the boys how to appreciate things in life.
Abstinence, the best motivator.
Now, the food, although not 1st class, is nicer. They are given choices. Don't want fish? Alright, we have chicken!

I'm not presuming to know what goes on in NS.
But seriously, if they work you hard enough, you would eat anything, to hell with it being bad tasting, you need energy for the next few days.
This is my own experience when suddenly thrown into a compulsory school organised NYAA oriented camp in Sec 3.
The food wasn't bad tasting, but it was wayyy over my spicy threshold then.
4 days, 3 nights camp. With only 1 bottle of water each day.
I still cleaned the whole damned plate.
I almost died cos my mouth was on fire, but I ate it anyway.
We were told not to drink from the taps cos it wasn't portable water.
I endured.

Obviously, a 4day, 3night camp isn't as intensive as NS.
But hell, you'd think that having to spend at least 5 days in camp doing crazy exercises, you would be less likely to be fussy over little details.

Sure, those things I can accept. I may not believe in Islam, but hey, mutual respect.

But, oh, I don't eat fish and seafood. (though I'm not allergic, I just choose to)

Now, I prefer not to eat duck. cos most of the time, its really chewy...
Crunchy stuff I can handle.
powdery stuff, welll maybe.
but chewy stuff? Unless it tastes like gold, I don't like it.
So I don't usually eat duck, even if its on the table. BUT I can if there ain't anything else.
Granted, I wouldn't eat a lot. In fact, the amount I eat probably is less than 1/3 of the daily meal requirement.
But hey, I figure giving my body some amino acids is better than none.

I'm not a vegetarian. I'm not on a diet. I just prefer not to eat it.
Fine, preferences aside, its fine.
So I have no reason to know he doesn't eat duck.
gee, if I don't eat it, somebody else does. Who? I don't really care!! So long it ain't on the table for more than 2 days!
If by the 2nd day, there's a lot left, I would eat some, why? because wasting food is bad.

I'm not a penny pincher. well, I am...
But, I prefer not to waste food. actually I prefer not to waste anything.
The ONLY time I didn't finish my lunch in school, was when the sauce was so overpoweringly sweet, my taste buds rebelled and I felt nauseous.
I'm not scarfing all that down just to puke it up.

The 1st swallow had an immediate gag reflex.

So I planned to eat it tomor- sry, today, when I woke up. (of course, wrapped and stored in the fridge)
But all well now, my older bro decided it bad to waste food and ate it.
but he cut off the part younger bro dug into.
Expected, when he was small, my older bro refused to even share a bottle of coke, or even the cup.

He's much better these days, but I guess its natural. I didn't think that far, but I suppose I might have cut off that part too.

Honestly, I'm bored and don't wanna go to bed just yet.
Although, 20 minutes ago, I decided to brush my teeth and wash my face and jump into bed... haha
But then a lil lightning bolt hit me and I came up with the brilliant idea to check out a few book titles on the NLB site, then it led me here.
Completely bored and unwanting of sleep.
OMG!!! I haven't been able to wake up early lately, so I decided to sleep early so that tomorrow I can wake up early to do my stupid module bidding! T.T guess that's scratched...

Haha, anyway, I woke up early, relatively, on wed and proceeded to entertain myself.
My bro's friend was over playing L4D and stuff... So I tried to stay in the rooms.

Anyway, did blah blah blah...

Time passed, till it turned 4pm.
And I decided I was too bored to stay at home anymore. So I messaged Eq and told her I was heading out.
haha, I thought she was still at home.
End up she had to run from CCK fresh from a badminton game to meet me.

So I looked around Raffle's City trying to find a store that sells Chupa Chups.
Yea, I got addicted to them recently. Well, not addicted but you get my drift.
Failed at that... So I got one of those cakes at the soy bean shop.
I actually wanted a cream puff. Seriously, those look sooo good!!! But the line was long AND I'd probably get another stomachache...

When Eq arrived, we called Red and was given a quest to search out Eclipse Spear Mints.
haha, we couldn't find Spear Mints so we got Wriggly's or something. Eq got this HUGE bottle of water, I didn't think she could finish that...
the only time I will ever buy a 1.5L bottle is when I'm skating with fam, they don't mind sharing the bottle anyway.

Finally saw Red after, hmm months of MIA-ing.
1st thing she said to me was, "You cut your hair! Why?!"
didn't realise my hair was that much shorter...
It's alright, the world still spins. At least it should.

haha, we had a laugh, red straightened my hair again. And I 'convinced' Eq to let Red use her as a barbie doll.

Sales not so hot this time of the year, Red was not happy with the sad state of the mall. It was literally crawling with customers.
Really, they must have been crawling... We saw the same ppl 4 times, well, they kept returning cos they obviously wanted the products, but didn't want to pay the price.

Eq ended up with curled hair. We discussed which items we would buy from Red had we the chance.
I was thinking straightener for me since my family have thick hair with some natural curl but not enough that it looks nice. Enough to be messy.
My bro wants one anyway. haha
My mum will kill when she finds out how much I have to pay for it.
I like waves and curls, but my hair is kinda short for it. :P my bad. I'm impatient... I don't know how I could have kept my hair that long before!!!

Eq thought she wanted a curler. But the straightener only costs $20 more than her rebonding session.
Plus her hair is already pretty much straight. She only wanted to get rid of frizz.
HAHA!!! she was saying that she'd blackmail some poor sod into getting the straightener for her.

I dunno, I kinda felt bad. Even though I wasn't the one plotting a blackmail.
I always advised a friend not to take anything from guys who like her but she doesn't feel the same way.
Just ain't right and also, well, the you won't owe the guy shit.
Not that I would know anything about relationships.
I'm a baby in that :P

We ate dinner together and chatted more. Red left in a hurry cos she heard her big boss was coming down.
Eq and I finished up and went back. We staked out the booth from the opposite booth. haha, there were seats and it was closed. :P
Luckily we did, the woman talking to red casually, after a bunch of customers left, was the big boss.
Wouldn't be good for Red if we went up there and caused her to be 'idle'

Chatted somemore and I decided I needed some liquid... got thirsty heh
So we went in search for some bubble tea for her and whatever for me.
Found a Gong Cha, I always had the impression it was bubble tea, dunno why. But funny thing is it had bubble tea. Only 1 kind.
While we waited in queue, Eq opened my christmas/belated bday... etc pressie.
I was kinda worried she wouldn't be able to wear it... T.T she skinny la.

Headed up and Eq got Red to open hers.
Glad both of them liked it.
haha, it made my day when Red sent a pic to Rei, with the caption, NICE!! Tesun gave me, and he replied with, "She gave you the finger?!"
haha, so funny.

I had the idea a long time ago, but never put it into action.
Was curious if the bathroom silicon would work as well as the retailing silicon for whipped cream deco deco.
Funny thing is that THAT worked, but the thing I didn't doubt, didn't...
My metallic glue didn't harden. I was freaking out that afternoon. scraping off the glue and mixing epoxy to put it together.
T.T 1st time using epoxy. Didn't know how long it would take to harden.
Prayed really really hard for it to harden within 2 hours so I can pack them and run out of the house with them.

Yea, I'm not religious but I do pray. To what? I don't really know. But I do believe in a being which is whimsical and only moves his butt when he wants to.

Eq and I looked in Perlini's Silver awhile since they were having this 70% off closing sale.
They had some nice designs. But then I hardly wear jewelry...
Maybe that will grow on me, like how makeup does.
T.T I'm getting lazy though... What with the school holidays and me skiving off just going out with bbcream.
haiz, what to do... all of a sudden my skin is breaking out, I don't want it to get worse, so I leave makeup out. But it hasn't gotten better, not in the last month...

Unfortunately, they closed early. So when Eq decided, yea, I could do with a bracelet, and wanted to go back inside, it was too late.
Not sure if she got it the next day though.

We talked to Red until 9.20pm and decided it was high time to scarper.
Didn't want Red's boss to come over early and discover that she was wasting time talking to friends, instead of trying to sell stuff.
Walked with Eq to the MRT and split there. Not having an MRT station near my house makes it hard to go home with friends.
Esp when there's a place where I can take a bus directly home.
MRT isn't that fast when you have to walk to a bus stop and wait for the bus to come... once I had to wait 25 minutes for 184. I thought 184 came like every 10 minutes!

Had fun chatting with them.
Wish we all did have an outing one day.
Though, I'd wear flats. I don't have those girls' ability to walk in heels for more than 4 hours... I'd die...

Right after I took them, I found out the metallic glue wasn't working... T.T so the actual products may not have this orientation anymore...
hehe, I just realised that its in the order that the 3 girls saw/ will see their present.
Eq first, Red next and finally Susu.

They are all made with adjustable bands.
I'm not very sure of whether they can withstand getting wet...
I'm not worried about the epoxy or the silicon but about the fixtures. I'm not sure if the colours will run or it will disintegrate... T.T

For Eq, I went with a muted theme.
Eq is a very sneaky, I learnt that from when I almost choked on my dinner when she visited me at work, hardworking girl.
So I decided to go with a large gray-green rose as the main focus. Fragile but deadly. Well, seemingly fragile... She's so skinny and cute.
I went with multi-coloured blings cos she has this fire in her which sometimes make me swear that I think she's gone mad.
haha, you got me, I just don't understand her obsession with exercise.
The star I added on because, you may not know it right now, but she's glowing in her own way. A bright little beacon which stands steadfast to her beliefs.
I noticed that the star was white, more cream I guess? So I added the tiny blue rhinestone to liven it up a bit.

For Red, I chose Black.
Headstrong, stubborn and born with a fiery temper.
Most people will choose red? the colour of the blood pounding in the veins, if they heard my description of her.
I chose black. Void of light. Void of any form of interference with her decisions.
Plus it suited the punk style she rocks with sometimes.
So, I put in the black skull and black tinted rose. I seriously think she loves roses. But yea, I have quite a few roses...
I thought pure black would be too much.
So I took a lil pink teardrop bead and inverted it into the 'cream', for the little princess she is.
I put in a couple of rhinestones to fill the blank space without crowding the items.

For Susu, there wasn't a colour scheme.
Honestly, I couldn't think of one.
Susu is a hime. A little button of a girl that makes you want to protect her and give her the best.
haha, but this hime's got dreams. Big ones, which I envy her of living.
So I gave her this huge gold star bead. May she live her dreams and become a star to the little babies we all cherish.
The flowers? I didn't really have a reason for choosing them.
It went with the star. haha. But yea, purple for luck (my fav colour) and fiery orange and red to make sure that fiery passion burns ever bright.
Purple rhinestone for the royal little princess, ruby red to safeguard her (rubies are believed to have healing properties) and green for smooth waters.
haha, that sounds weird. Deep green of smooth waters, may the world move at her pace.

Woah, it sounds as if I planned this with so much thought...

Honestly, when I made these, it wasn't sooo well thought through.
Not everything I chose had a specific meaning to it.
I chose those items because it fit them, these girls.
But why did I feel it fit them? I didn't know. I just put them together the best I could, because I'm ain't ever giving something crappy away.
While I was describing the rings, I spontaneously came up with specific reasons and characteristics that matched the pieces.

haha, maybe I'm an idiot, I should let people think I'm so bloody thoughtful.
But yea, I kinda love being an idiot. A honest, down to earth fool.

This fool finally learnt how to laugh and joke, after 15 years of being stiff and cold, I began to warm up.
I made a true friend and that changed my world.
Frankly, I think I should make her a ring too, honestly, what was I thinking? Giving her a primer for christmas...
hehe, oh well, I'm going to have to do something big for her birthday then. I just realised it will be her 21st! :P

Was giving my skin a rest, hoping my itchy fingers wouldn't pick at the scabs, but... of course, they did. haha
Other than applying a thin layer of BB cream for my driving lessons, the sun is really strong at 9am!!! at least my eyes tell me so, I didn't do makeup.

haha, maybe since I hate doing smokey eyes and I have this impression that I'll look like a panda or like someone boxed me, but anyways, I've always avoided doing black and brown smokey eyes on myself.
The only time I did it well, was for Rox on her party day.
And that was my 2nd time doing it. My 1st time, on myself, really suxed. hehe, that was my 1st attempt at eye makeup.

I'll have to say, it turned out pretttyyyyy well this time.
I used a matte brown from my 88 Original Palette and a black from the same palette to darken it up and smoke it out.
At first I couldn't be bothered to open the Metal Mania palette, but I did anyway. Honestly, I love the 88 palette for the colours, but the Metal Mania palette has sooo many pretty highlight colours, light golds, champagnes, peaches... etc
Well, they also have reds and oranges and purples... but I haven't really tried those out yet.

I had a hard time lining my eyes with my Maybelline Gel eyeliner in black. Possibly cos my brush was out of shape... I forgot to shape it after I washed it.
But I managed to get a nice wing and I extended it wayyy further than I normally would.

Overall, nice look, not my style, but nice. Comforting to know that I CAN be BORING.
Oh well, if ppl ask me to help them do makeup, at least I know I can do the most commonly asked for look.

sooo, the flea had a SPECIAL time sale, 11am to 1pm.
When I reached it was 12.30pm, in 1/2 hour, I grabbed everything I could ever find a need for and paid for it.
The damage? $49.
Ouch!

But I got loads of items!!!

At the flea, I realized that the spree-ers get the eyeshadows packed in boxes... of 3.
So for them to sell me one piece of that single colour, they had to open the box.
My next question was I bought 3 shadows, couldn't they have re-boxed them? I don't have an answer for that but I think it may have conflicted with the size of the envelope. haha
Sooo sorry!!!.

Yea, at the flea, the lipsticks, spas, pencil liners all didn't have their own individual boxes.
So I can assume that they arrived in a large box.
Now, I'm miffed with the NYX company itself, rather than the sellers.

NYX Tinted Lip Spa in Hush
Hush is a very nude toned lippie. No red undertones at all, its more brownish nude.
It's good for presents, nude suits everyone. Now, bright red, don't ever give bright red lippies as presents...
Actually, I was thinking of giving this to my bro.
Now, before you start laughing your heads off, let me draw a big colourful picture for you guys.

My brother is an idiot. Yes, that much might be true.
When he was young, he took to rubbing his mouth with his cotton T-shirts.
So much so that he actually rubbed them raw over time. So in the end, his lips are definitely worse than mine.
He's been using so many lip balms. NIVEA mostly. Like he will finish 1 tube before I even go more than 0.5cm off mine.
Yea, that's probably cos I hate the waxy feeling...
Can never figure out how he can stand putting it on.

So I mentioned before that I was in LOVE with NYX Tinted Lip Spa when I tried my 'Sake'.
Really, I LOVE IT SOOO MUCH!
I was really wondering if giving my bro a lipstick would be a good idea... haha, I could imagine his bunk mates laughing their heads off when they see his lips brown and hi-shined.
On second thoughts, not a very good idea...
So I offered it to Eq as a Christmas pressie. Oh, did I mention? Some of those items I've bought today and previously were for gifts.
Rox loved her Loreal Primer as I thought she would, but others aren't quite so easy to figure out... haha.

NYX Dramatic Chromatic Eyeshadow Pigments in Black, Red, Orange and Key Lime
I've ordered NYX Loose Pearl Eyeshadows from the same spree-er, but the spree is taking FOREVER to close...
Yea, it hasn't closed after 1 month...
When I went to the flea, I saw that the NYX Loose Pearl Eyeshadows had a markedly smaller bottle and the colours are more vibrant than most of the Chromes.
Either way, I wanted to order Chromes too with the spree, but was a bit apprehensive since I couldn't really see the colours well online.
There were many many many colours.
I just chose these 4 after much deliberation.
I decided no blues and purples, cos Rox had helped me order Inouvi Eyeshadows of that family shade. Yup, some of those are presents too!!
Ok, maybe I need to buy guy presents... Shit. I have nothing to give the guys... and I'm broke cos I topped up my EZ-link and renewed my PDL... hehe, I would rather not withdraw more money... my mum is going to kill me when she updates my passbook...

I especially wanted the orange.
I have absolutely no orange shadow.
I don't really know what to expect when they say chromatic, so I'll guess I'll find out when I use them eh?

NYX Single Eyeshadows in White and Dark Gray
I've tested the Irises and Wild Fire. I love the colour payoff and the shadows are so smooth.
As I said, pressie worthy.
I've thrown away my Rhomlon White and Black Singles, cos those REALLY SUX! I hate those... yuck.
But that wasn't the reason why I bought White.

White is good for highlighting and for crazy makeup.
But I've got a small pot of white in my 88 original palette and am no where near finishing it so... nope, not for me.
Honestly, I wanted matte black. But I dug and dug and dug in the box and the closest I came to matte black was Black Sparkle. Now that was nice... But still, I already have the Black for Chrome in my basket.

Grey? hmm, actually I noticed that is one of the colours missing in the 88 palette. There's silver, taupe (greyish brown), but no full on grey.
Not sure of the use for this colour though...
Just got in on a whim, might end up as a pressie...
Well, looking at it, it is a lovely colour. Probably really good for a smokey eye.
It seems matte, so good for daily wear.
Shimmers usually people associate with clubbing or night makeup.

I can see a crazy makeup of smoke clouds coming up when I think hard.
But, my art really sux... I can't draw a natural cloud to save my life.
So translating that onto my face, probably isn't a good idea...
Yea, I guess best to give it away to someone who can pull it off.

e.l.f Studio Lip Primer & Plumper
Hmm, I've been disappointed time and again by e.l.f. products.
That cream eyeshadow, this cream eyeliner... all suxed.
But there are some jewels in the rough.
The cool bronzer, is one I believe, although, my 1st attempt made me more orange than I planned, I think with more practice, I can get it right.
Another is the e.l.f. crease/blending brush.
I finally used it. For EOY. I will have to say, it is much less scratchy than my Mary Kay.
But the bristles are short so its more dense and less fluffy. This means (for those of you who don't understand) that it puts more colour on, and blends a smaller area.
So... for a smokey eye, it will be harder to achieve with the e.l.f., but easier with the Mary Kay.

I got this for a present.
Straight out.
My lips aren't going to benefit from this even if it worked.
They bleed and crack so much, it isn't even a joke. I guess I need to drink more water??
I thought this would benefit cosplayers.
I notice that lipstick is the 1st thing to disappear, for photoshoots it would be nice if the lip colour stayed just a little bit longer, in between touch ups.

NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencils in Medium Brown and White
These are matte I believe.
I have bad experiences with eyeliner pencils with glitter in them...
They break so easily and the glitter is so ugly...
Safe to say, I got the white one as a present for my sister.
When I'm helping her with gel eyeliner, she would ask if I have white, becos that's what she learnt when she went for that Shiseido Makeup lesson sooo long ago.
That she should line her bottom waterline with white.
Honestly, I got the e.l.f. cream eyeliner in white, cos of her. But it suxed soo bad, I'm not even giving it to her to try.
Her gel eyeliner technique is sooo gross... she just slams my poor brushes straight down into the surface and withdraws it.
I'm taking to scooping out those areas she touched onto the back of my hand and using them in my makeup looks, trying to keep my makeup as sanitary as possible.
I'm really wasting a lot...

She doesn't trust me not to poke her eye when doing the lining the lower lid.
So insists on doing it herself... and ends up looking much like a panda... haha, cos she lines it really thickly, then blinks by accident so it spreads even more....
She's also wasting a lot of my eyeliner...
I'm wasting whatever is left on my hand from the blob I scoop out, she wastes it by freaking out and screaming, then I have to carefully correct it using makeup remover.
Now if she just stops using so much, it would be fine... T.T

Can you believe I'm younger... T.T I feel like I'm babysitting...

The brown, well, brown is good for a more natural look.
People often think black is the way to go for eyeliner, but really any colour goes.
Try purple eyeshadow with an electric blue eyeliner to brighten up the day, or ocean green shadows with gold liner.
Even if the colours don't make sense normally, they go.
Blue shadows with pink eyeliner or bronze eyeliner. The contrast is spectacular.

Well, I got off point... haha.
Brown is more natural than black. Because the shadows on our skin is more brown or grey than black.
Black is too harsh.
Pencil. Great for beginners. Beginners have shaky hands. I have shaky hands.
But I can cover up my mistakes or remove them easily without ruining the whole look.
Beginners can't, I know cos I was a beginner. I ended up removing my whole face makeup cos re-applying my powder foundation over certain spots only created a very cakey look in some spots.

Liquid is unforgiving. It's so stark, with its clean borders, it screams look at me, I've messed up!
Gel is worse. Because its tougher to remove.

Pencil is the most forgiving cos you can smoke the mistakes out or gently rub until the extra transfers to your finger.
of course, a cotton bud is better.
A dry one, mind, a wet one will take all of your makeup off...

EOY today!!
Went with older bro and his friend.
Wahhh, his friend is Australian Chinese who has a biggg camera...

For my makeup I decided to keep it simple, and do the colour combi from Stars and Rockets entry.
Well, not specifically la, I couldn't remember which pots I used last time...
hehe, I wanted to add shimmer to the look too! Remember using all mattes last time.

So I layered a pink shade from the Metal Mania Palette over the pink I had chosen.
This time I insisted on using my new NYX Single Eyeshadow in 'Irises'.
Wanted to prove that the colour is as lovely as I believed when I bought it, despite the large glitters in it.

Actually, it applied pretty nicely and was close to NEON blue. Haha, not really... Electric maybe.
Anyway, real bright, but I've figured out that the reason I looked like I got punched in the eyes when I do a pink and blue combi, is cos I always try to use a dark blue.
It does look better with bright colours.
I used black to darken the corner and crease. Of course, with LOTS of blending.

The only differences between today and previous Stars and Rockets look is the shimmer and the fact that I put a thin line of my black liquid eyeliner over the bronze gel liner to define my eyes.
I noticed that the bronze, although gives a nice contrast with blue shadows, doesn't flatter the eye shape.

I got lazy and just shot these pics with my laptop on my tummy, :P so the eye portion is really tiny...

For some reason, didn't find ANYTHING to buy... WTH?! I can't believe nothing caught my eye, except the $16 Hakuoki manga from Pan-in-the-box.
Saw a wig booth and contacts booth, I noticed the crazy lenses.

Cosplayers? Not a lot. Sure, more than STGCC, but let's face it.
They were NOT cos-ing, NOT according to my standards.
Please la, a kakashi without a white wig?
A sasuke whose hair is no longer than 4cm and no spikes?
A guy wearing BRS cloak over jeans and sneakers?

Sure, there were GREAT costumes.
I was fascinated by this black dragon. IT WAS SOO DARN CUTE!!!!
It was more like an animal suit!!! haha
A lot more chibi cosplayers. So cute. Chibi miku, chibi Ed (hehe, can do the 'Did you just call me short?! !@#@%' classic ed), chibi Yui...

Then there were a lot of ballgown ciels... I spotted 3.
1 BRS who was totally mistreating her katana prop. I think it was borrowed... I mean, who will do that to something they own sia...

Of course, a TON of vocaloids. Really, I'm starting to get annoyed.
Sure, their costumes are cool, but... well, if everyone is doing them then...
You know... I kinda don't feel kindly towards them for choosing something that has been done better before.

Like actually sleeping. He thought he was posing but the dude was actually sleeping!
LOL, so cute!!

Performances wise...
Ugg, the first few had REAL bad vocals.
The emcees suxed big time.
One emcee in particular.
She kept mangling the names and had the worst timing I have EVER seen.
Stepping off stage and coming on 30 seconds later after realising the acts haven't set up finish yet.
She even boasted to have hosted 2 SOYs!! Come on, if you have experience, shouldn't you BE better?
Personally, this is insulting.
These people work hard to get their acts together, although sometimes they aren't great, but mangling names, joking about their song titles and making fun of them, JUST because you can't do your job right?
Really, I'd say you are fired ANY DAY.

Lighting suxed big time too.
You could see that they just left it to run on a set programme.
The lights flashed colours stuff, but the spotlight was ALWAYS shining on the middle of the stage.
Even when the guitar solo was playing to the left of the stage, it was still focused on the vocals who did nothing but stand there and the guitarist was barely visible.

Sound wise, acceptable.
Although, they could have responded faster, like when they heard the vocals overpowering the melody, just turn down the volume on the vocals damn it!

Arrgggghhhh, so frustrating...
I'm complaining here, but can't do shit.
I won't know how to operate the machinery so I'm not entitled to saying that a deaf crazy man could probably do better, but I'm saying it anyway.

Honestly, I heard 3 songs I recognised get mangled badly.
My bro insisted the last one I recognised to be a cover so it was OKAY for it to be changed that much.
Sorry, but dear girl, I'm sure you flew in from Japan, but I like Anata ga Ita Mori the original better... You screech and croon but all the comes out has minimal variance in terms of tone and pitch.
Although her next song was much better in terms of range... T.T

All in all, I found this event disappointing.
Not only because I didn't manage to spy loot, but also because of the TERRIBLE organisation.
Come on, get a better emcee. One with more backbone, at least someone who won't torment the performers who worked their asses off to show us what they've got.
If your emcee can't improvise, then she ain't an emcee at all. After all, emcees don't have trial runs, they wing it.

Went today, well, yesterday as of now, to find Eq at STGCC.
Had a tiny bit of problem finding the stupid stairs to get to the overhead crossing to suntec.
All the 3 times I went Suntec before, I had either Jay-walked with my brothers or was driven by car (once)
Learning driving puts me off jay-walking... haha

Anyway, I got up early, because of the STUPID DRILLING 2 floors up.
How can I tell its 2 floors exactly? I don't know, but hmm, surely, my ceiling would SHAKE more if it were the floor above us.
GOD! There's construction work downstairs for MRT AND there's renovations upstairs...

Haha, did my base makeup and eyeshadow in 1/2 hour then saw that it was LONNGGGG before I needed to leave so decided to do something crazy, hehe, I love crazy.

I decided to test out the 'Ivory' e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner mentioned previously.
@!$&*(^#!@ I opened the square tub and what do I find?
A nice hemisphere of eyeliner which doesn't even touch the walls of the container, there is a 3/4mm worth of space from the walls.
I knew immediately that the liner wouldn't spread well...
Tried to scoop some out to put on the back of my left hand (my palette, haha) to warm up.
Took me a few mins as the blobs I scooped out fell into the 3/4mm spaces... T.T

After warming up, the liner was pretty smooth. But for some reason, it took off my eyeshadow instead of drawing a line...

It was more pearl than white anyway.
I was sure my makeup was screwed.
Grabbed my Rimmel automatic eyeliner in Electric Blue. I love the colour.
But when I first used it directly on my lid, it did the same thing like e.l.f., took off my shadow instead of drawing a line...
So I wanted to warm it up, but ended up breaking off a HUGE chunk of it.
Sad... Wasted a bit.

Smushed the chunk on my palette and used a eyeliner brush to do detailing.
Haha, first time I did crazy makeup without planning. I felt so scared of screwing up.
At least my first 'non-typical' eyeliner look was in black and needed a few swirls, this one I wanted somemore punch.

To make it look more 3D, I used my drying 'new' deep blue-purple eyeliner and a new Rhomlon silver glitter liner. Loving the glitter liner!
Just found out the glitter peels off!! haha, LUCKY! I was worried I would have to suffer DAYS of glitter being stuck on my skin. Glitter is sooo annoying! It sticks EVERYWHERE!
At least this liner for sure comes off clean!

AHHH side note, I've used the NYX Tinted Lip Spa in Sake, I LOVE IT!!!
OMG!!!
At first I was so shocked, when I apply, the lippie was so soft it gave way, I was worried. How to apply if it is too soft to press on?
Lol, found out it was made of soft waxes. Application must be gentler than other lippies, well, it is a lip balm actually.
OMG, it is sooo waxy! But in a good way!! I hate the NIVEA cos its waxy and dry and makes my lips feel weird.
BUT THIS IS AMAZING!
When you put it on there is this menthol feeling, but the ingredients don't have menthol in it though.
It provides an occlusive layer but the menthol feeling prevents it from felling yucky!
I know its occlusive since my lip was bleeding, but after I apply no blood got through. lol, that wasn't exactly a gd thing... bleeding lips.
It looks like high-shine gloss on the lips. More tinted than normal gloss, but SUPER SHINY! V stylo.
It lasts very long too! Most of the time, my gloss is gone within the hour, but this can be on for 3-4 hours. And then, I use a piece of tissue to remove it cos I can feel bits of dried skin and it irritates me...
Haha, or else it would last longer!

I only use 2 days (wed and fri) and I really love it. My lips are so much better!!
Although I plucked at my lip today after I came home, so a new area is bleeding... T.T but the original bleeding area isn't anymore, even without the lippie.
Gonna get more of this next time!!!
Too bad it doesn't come shrink-wrapped or boxed... I would LOVE to give these away as presents! They are THAT precious!

Haven't tried Thalia yet. I'm planning on waiting till my lips heal fully. But, if it's 1/2 as good as the lip spa, then its already better than ZA lipstick, the only other branded lippie I have! lol
Yea, the Lip Spa is WAYYY better than my homemade gloss in terms of moisturizing and wear time. In love...

Chatted alot, but very tiring.
Everytime want to chat, they got swarmed by photogs, so I siam one side.
Then when photog disappear and they relax and I go back talk, within a minute another single photog come to ask to take pic.
Then the cycle repeats... Of course, when there's 1 photog, more will come, just like a swarm of bees.

Got Nurarihyon no mago!!! Saw 2 Rikuo (youkai version) and Gen! Haha, the Gen shorter than Rikuo so I didn't see him until Rikuo moved.
Me is liking the blue haori one Rikuo wore. The green one, well, my fav colour is blue. Actually purple, but blue is a close second.

JP popped by and we all chatted and strolled ard.
Haha, so funny. JP leaving for korea, well, left already... and Eq and Yvonne leaving for taiwan on sun, separately.
They all so sad, cannot go EOY.
The funny part is so qiao lo, all 3 can't go.

What to do, apparently I'm the only one who cares whether my dog gets his jab.
Well, my mum cares I guess? But she's overseas and I'm badgering my uncle to drive us there...
hehe, my dog is a pain in the ass... He's not very lovable, but still I'll keep him, craziness and all. I think we got rid of 2 of his phobias so far, so, gonna keep it up!!

I learnt of this online site from some makeup blogger, which one I can't recall.
Anyway, so I splurged and got MORE makeup. Yea, I should have enough by now... I hear the same thing everytime.
But makeup is my only vice.

Who am I kidding, wrath is another vice of mine, along with greed.
hehe.

Sooo, I was attracted by the fact that they had both e.l.f. studio and NYX lines.
In fact, that makes majority of their products.

I have some e.l.f. items, honestly they didn't impress me.
Really, I'm so disappointed, but it's cheap so what could I expect from it?
But hundreds of reviews have touted e.l.f. products to be good, especially their studio line, so here I find myself tempted to try again.

NYX, I've heard of it. Seen the images, swatches and looks.
But in Singapore? No way can someone smell it, let alone get a hold of a tester.
NYX products are something affordable yet the quality is pretty good.
Or so I've heard.

Ok, NYX products first.
Right at the top, we have 2 lipsticks, on the left NYX Tinted Lip Spa in "Sake" and on the right, NYX Round Lipstick in "Thalia"
Directly below the lippies, we have 3 NYX Single Eyeshadows, from left, "Wild Fire", "Irises" and "Extreme Apricot"

Next e.l.f., the remaining items, from left.
e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in "Ivory", e.l.f. Studio Bronzer in "Cool" and e.l.f. Blending Eye Brush

They all just arrived today.
I was so antsy... It took over a week for the items to reach me after payment.
It took 3 days for the people to post the items after confirming my payment, even though they said it would be posted in 24 hours.
I was so worried that it might have been lost in the mail... T.T
It's the 1st package to arrive that I didn't ask for registered postage.

Packing wise, EVERYTHING except the brush was individually wrapped in small rectangular pieces of bubble wrap.
Then they were all shoved into a brown envelope which was almost completely wrapped in packing tape.

Well, I have to say, it was DAMN difficult to find an area to insert the stupid scissors to cut the package open.
Then when I opened it, I was expecting to find everything wrapped together, but instead, they tumbled out haphazardly if I weren't as careful as I was.
The brown envelope, well, was not torn but, shit, it looked pretty banged up, crumpled.
Overall, I'm not really impressed with their packaging.

After unwrapping all the individual items, I found something else I'm not pleased with.
The NYX shadows, although new, were open. They had no box nor plastic shrink wrap to inform people that they were completely new.
I know, I ain't buying those for presents anytime soon.
Same with the lippies.
I know drug-store brands don't usually come with boxes, unlike e.l.f., but they at least have the plastic perforated shrink wrap around them as proof of their 'freshness'.

So I don't think I'm being too fussy here.
Yea, maybe the people wanted to check the items before sending them out to make sure they weren't broke.
But hey, the case has a transparent cover and if you shake it and there ain't no dust flying around, it ain't broke.
Ok, IF it was in a box, it probably wouldn't have shrink wrap around it.
So they'd have to open the boxes and check, I'd prefer them to repack them in the boxes and send them too.

It just ain't right.
ARRGHHH!!!

Ok UPDATE! Went to a flea today, and found out that they receive NYX Single Eyeshadows in boxes of 3, so not possible to have individual boxes. But I still wonder why they didn't pack the 3 I ordered into a box and send...

Anyway, I'm just going to put the reasons for getting this stuff. Not that they all come with reasons... haha
I know justification isn't necessary, but I might need this post in the future since I'm so scattered brain.

1) e.l.f. Cream Eyeliner in 'Ivory'
I had hoped it to be a matte white, but it has shimmer. Oh well.
Anyway, my intention is that I wanted a white gel liner and I wanted to test out other brands of liners as well, to see which brands I'm more suited to using and which brand's formula will smear less on my eyes.
I really like matte.

2) e.l.f Studio Bronzer in 'Cool'
I so wanted a matte bronzer. Matte so I can use it for guy's makeup.
Well, I don't see guy's wearing shimmery, sparkly makeup and I don't think Edward Cullen sparkly is cool, soo...
Anyway, it's my 1st bronzer, so that is reason enough? haha.
The other 2 shades have shimmer and they were OOS.
Was thinking if e.l.f. bronzers work gd, would recommend them to Rox, but she seems to be in a hurry to get one, might not have time to test before she gets one...

3) e.l.f. Blending Eye Brush
I have 2 blending brushes. One is the large fluffy brush that came with my 26 brush set which I'm not very sure is meant for the eyes, it is pretty big... and the other is the Mary Kay Signature Blending/Crease Brush I bought from magicaltannsu blogshop. (I realize I didn't blog about this, probably cos I ordered brushes and brush guards rather than actual makeup)
The Mary Kay was really fluffly but the bristles were long.
I wanted to compare it with other blending brushes. Now that the e.l.f. brush has arrived, I realize that the bristles are 1/2 as long as the Mary Kay and it seems more dense, so more like a pencil brush.
I think this would be a good investment, even though it is cheap.

4) NYX Single Eyeshadows in "Irises", "Wild Fire" and "Extreme Apricot"

What called to me was the "Extreme Apricot". It was a fiery bright MATTE red, a colour that doesn't exist in my palette, well, there is a close one, but I'm not happy with the pigmentation.

Then I saw this marvelous teal-jade shade that was "Wild Fire". You see when I ordered this, I just got into the "I-look-good-in-green" mode, having worn a beautiful green smokey eye to my 3rd paper. Yea, I purposefully do makeup before my exams to calm me down.
Though, I could have tried a little bit harder to cram more stuff into the cotton wool between my ears.

The reason why I got "Irises" is pretty sad. On my 2nd last paper, I tried real hard to make blue and pink work together. I ended up looking like I got punched.
HAHA! I just went for my paper like that anyway, cos I didn't want to take it off and since I did it, I might as well flaunt the fact that I'm not prefect with makeup in school. Loads of classmates always seem to be taken aback by me in bright makeup.
"Irises" seemed to be a bright cobalt blue, bordering on electric.
I wanted to play with that piece of fire.

All in all, I'm sure I will love "Extreme Apricot" and "Wild Fire". The former IS matte and the latter a lovely shade and slightly shimmery.
A bit disappointed with "Irises" though, it has large glitters in it which make me feel like I won't like it as much...
Well, I guess I'll find out when I use it.

5) NYX Round Lipstick in "Thalia"
I've read many reviews about "Thalia". It's supposedly a brilliant nude colour that goes with EVERYTHING.
I was choosing between that and "Strawberry Milk".
Me thinks I would have liked "Strawberry Milk" more... But when I ordered, the reviews won out.
"Thalia" came to me a bit browner than I expected.
I hope it won't look too weird... >.<"
Mostly I got this because in my WHOLE makeup case, I only have 1 ZA lippie, 2 cheapo lippies and 2 pots of gloss I made from those cheapo lippies.
I decided I needed to balance out my kit, too many eyeshadows and not enough lip stuff.
Actually, I have the LEAST blushes. I use only 1 pot of loose pink shimmer as blush.
Then followed by foundation and loose powders, but how many shades of those do I need? Hmm, let's see... 1! So that is of no consequence.

6) NYX Tinted Lip Spa in "Sake"
I felt guilty.
I'm a bad, bad, really bad girl...
I'm neglecting my lips, really bad.
So bad that they have been cracked and bleeding for the past 2 weeks without healing.
I chew on my lip, I pluck at it when thinking and I refuse to open that stupid NIVEA lip balm to use.
So I thought, hey, this promises to help moisturize my lips.
EVERYONE knows, come on you don't need to be a pharmacist do ya?, that moisturizing is the 1st step to healing.
So here we go.
Why "Sake"?
Good question, well the colours are limited and I already bought a nude lippie, "Thalia".
So how the hell did I choose? 
Well isn't "Sake" nice? Mmm, lightly sweet and just a hint of that burning sensation as it goes down.
Hehe. Well, that AND the fact that the colour wasn't something extreme like Purple or Blue.
It'll be a while before I do try Blue or Purple lipstick.
Haha.
